Upholstery Maintenance Tips

Below is a guide of helpful hints and tips to ensure that your furniture always looks its best.

The secret to maintaining seat cushions, back pillows and throw pillows is simple:

Fluff & Rotate!

Fill clumping and feather migration are a natural occurrence for upholstered products. To help your cushions overcome this, fluff, massage and rotate daily for a lifetime of comfort and enjoyment. This simple method allows for even redistribution of fiber throughout the casings and minimizes the migration of feathers through the down-proof ticking material and fabric application. Down/feather blend product gives back pillows and throw pillows a full and overstuffed shape and soft feel that conforms to your body when you sink into it. When fluffed, massaged and rotated regularly, the comfort of your piece will remain timeless. Fiber back pillows and throw pillows will also maintain their shape through light fluffing.

Fabric Care

Prolong the life of your fabric’s beautiful look by vacuuming the surface of your furniture regularly. To avoid any fabric discoloration, it is recommended you avoid direct sunlight.

For spills and heavy soiling, use this handy cleaning code guide:

• W/S: Spot clean using a mild solvent, an upholstery shampoo, or the foam from a mild detergent.

• W: Spot clean using the foam only from a water-based cleaning agent such as a mild detergent or non-solvent upholstery shampoo product.

 • S: Spot clean using a mild water-free solvent or dry cleaning product.

Consult a professional and pretest a small area before any treatment.

Sleeper Mechanisms

For an effortless transition, carefully pull the mechanism straight up and out prior to unlocking the leg then pull the mechanism forward. When retracting the mechanism, fold the bottom of the mechanism over the top, flatten the support bar into place, and guide the mechanism straight into its resting position.

 Frame and Suspension System

While it may seem natural to push your furniture, it is best if you lift at the base using proper lifting techniques to maintain the stability of your piece. For maximum comfort and shape, refrain from using armrests as seats.
